Can the trans fluid be poured in from inside the cabin if you remove the shifter.
I was talking to a friend the other day who does a lot of work on cars. I asked him for tips on changing the trans fluid before I started. I told him I bought a pump from Sears to make it easier to fill. He told me that he usually removes the shifter and just pours it in from the top. Can this be done in our cars. Most of his work is done an japanese cars so he doesn't have a great deal of experience with euro cars but I wonder if this could work on our cars.

Adding a "Hell" to the above...
In agreement there. I did the same with my FD3S. It's not hard at all if you use a pep-boys pump, really not.
FWIW: I use MT90 now, but next change I'm going to use 1qt MTL and 1.5 MT90.

You're probably thinking of shifter fluid. I usually change mine every 15k. Pours right in to the
shifter compartment. Easiest way to tell if you need some is to remove the shifter boot. If it's dry, you need some!

dont forget the auxiliary shifter fluid (OEM and toyguy only)
if you unscrew your **** and see a hole, you need to make sure you keep it topped off.
many aftermarket shifters do not have this hole, which means you don't need the aux fluid.
