Default Car idles ok with Maf unplugged (bit lumpy)..and revs ok....With maf sensor in, bogs real bad when I

give it throttle..sputters, but will idle very rough and sometimes die, but can idle with maf sensor in also, just rough.,... Checked all the charge pipes and they are all connected.. Car holds vaccum fine -18 psi at idle.. etc. Maf snsor is 2 months old. car is asp stg 3.

fwiw when I log blocks 034 and 43

i get this

034 @800 rpm 275 degrees 0 Volts TEST OFF

043 @800 rpm 500 degress .435 Volts TEST OFF

INJECTORS @ 800 rpm are 2.04 MS

Throttle value sensors are 14.8 % and 84.8 % for s1 and s2 respectively....and flucutate when car is off

Sort of throwing **** against the wall..

But does the 043 and 034 channels above indicate that an EGT is dead?

Have no fault codes, unless I unplug the maf...car would not start previously until I changed plugs, last ones were blacked out, and smelled very heavily of gas, every one did... from searching it seems thats indicative of a bad egt maybe? dumping fuel? Does the data above supprt that?
Car has 80k miles. Orig Egt's I believe.

TIA to any help. Greatly appreciated as I am in HI, without the support of the greater los angeles audi b5 s4 stage 3 specialists..

Default What about Steve's VW Repair, Joe's VW Repair, and Volxgerman - all in Honolulu?

Volxgerman is mentioned here on AW multiple times, they're a GIAC dealer, and their website looks fairly legit.

Default Can you tell if its a bad egt from that data?

I know something is wrong, but I just need to confirm if that block is for egt's

Thanks for those shops, I have never heard the local guys mention them, if all else fails Ill get her over there, although I doubt they are that knowledgeable about the b5 s4 with ko4s.

Default i read that you must go in channel 112 and look readings...

if must read 1035 when engine is off, and you should read 945 when engine is running, if you are reading any other values (higher or lower), then your EGT sensors are BAD.

p.s. my EGT's is shot, running rich

Default FWIW I had no idle irregularities with bad EGT's, it'd just bang on decel. What are your g/s

at idle? Are you running the 60# injectors?

good point. Log g/s. Should see between ~250-290 g/s.

Default Tj, was this bang only when letting off throttle? I have a problem like

that and I can't figure out what it is. The bang seems to be worse for me in a higher gear.
