CAR Mag.(UK) says that RS4 only produces 318 lb ft torque..?

that has to be a misprint...torque has to be right around where the HP output is, needs something to

That's correct. RS4 is not a torque monster, it's optimized for high end power

307 hp 366 # ????
Easy. If 366# is at 4400 rpm, then hp = 307. Mathematical fact. For hp to get no higher than 307, torque really has to fall off fast...at least down to 307 by 5252 rpm (remember the formula: hp = torque X rpm divided by 5252).
