Default Changing "Service in" mileage.

I have already scoured the archives and Ross-Tech Vag groups. I'm trying to change the "Service in" mileage when you press the left button on the instrument cluster. The default is 10000 miles...I'd like to change it to 5000. I have already followed the procedures outlined in the archives, but it still shows 10000 miles after reset. My adaptation channels 42 & 43 show 5 (for 5000 miles), but the inidcator still shows 10000. My only guess right now is it is not possible to change this on an '01.5 S4, but then why would it have the adaptation channels to do so? Any help would be appreciated since this issue never seems to be answered in the archives.

Default try to do the readapt again. It took mine a while to register

correctly. As longas the VAG shows correctly, the display should correct itself. I think mine took like 5 days to finally reflect correctly. Just make a note of the current mileage or 5k till service, just to double chekc agains one the trip computer catches up the to adaptation. Mines been fine since @ 5k. Just another quirk of the trip computers like the fading leds.

Default you've set it correctly. Just save it and reset the indicator (like you would when you've reached

"0" miles to service) and it should reset to the new value.

Default I've had the same problem. Acutally easier to change 'miles driven' to reflect 5000 miles...

after the service than re-adjust the 10000 down to 5000.

That doesn't work...always resets to 10000. Thanks though.

Default well, only thing different on mine is my channel 43 is set to 8. Worked fine for me.

You are turning the key to off then back on between checks for the interval, aren't you? Adaptation channel changes only become "active" when the key is cycled off-on.
