The DTS mount area makes a good jackstand location.

Default There are rails running parallel to the sides, about 4 inches in

Make sure the jackstands aren't too deep - it will gouge your body (I'm referring to the U shaped part at the top).

Just don't try to jack up the back of the car with the jack stands on the DTS mounts.

Default or get some AC Hydraulics flat-top jack-stands. only $95 . . . each! :-O

beats me why the flat-tops are $45 more than the regular!! you can see that pad is $18 from the jack section. how is that flat-top thing $27 more than the standard one?

ultimate garage

Default I think he has those posts custom made to slip into the AC Hydraulics jacks.

In the low volume that he's dealing with, I'm sure the prices aren't that cheap. Looking at mine, you can see they bent and welded a piece of metal to the top plate to fit into the standard pad that they use with their jacks. I believe he then has the finished piece treated (not sure how it's treated) for corrosion resistance.

They are expensive, but this is the only place I've seen that has them. My only complaint is that their lowest setting is kinda high. I have to crank the jack up pretty high before the jackstand will fit under the subframe. I would love it if they were a little smaller, so I could jack it up a little less initially, then progressively raise the car one side at a time, raising the stands accordingly.

Rather than buying a second pair of these, I think I'm going to supplement these stands with a set of cheap (and shorter/smaller) MVP stands. I do want another pair, so I can put the entire car up when I need to.

Default With the AC stands, I've done it...it's fine.

The top of the stands are ~4" in diameter with the rubber pad. I was a little concerned at first, but it seemed fine.
