Default Check valve discussion..........

Because there isn't too much concrete information on what problems this specific valve can cause. Lets hear some of everyones symptoms when theres went bad. It is also a common valve that people break when doing any kind of work in that area.

It is said to be only on automatic transmissions cars. But it is for sure on my 2001.5 M-box 6-speed. It was also shown to be on quattro_silver's S4 here:
<a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/2121266.phtml">https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/2121266.phtml</a>

Also on mbox's car here:
<a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/2196319.phtml">https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/2196319.phtml</a>

The valves part number: 078-611-933B
And a picture of the vavle:

Default Isn't it the valve feeding the brake booster? Every model should have one.

I believe they break, not fail. The nipple gets snapped off, not the functionality of the "one way flow".

I can't remember reading where one failed.

Default

Yes, that is true. Some people do break it and not know it. Is that the sole purpose of it?

Default It's definitely on my car. It's right below my horribly leaking breather in this pic :P

Default It prevents the boost in the manifold from removing the vacuum from the brake booster.

The brake booster is the "power" in power brakes. With the vacuum the brakes are manual and very very hard to get good stooping.

Default I have no clue what it does, but it is on my '02 6-speed, and It did snap in half

When pressure testing it just gushed air, and it caused me to get flashing EPC and CEL lights once right before I fixed it.

The car felt very sluggish with poor throttle response due to the boost leak, but no real issues other than that.

Default I'm fairly certain it checks vacuum/pressure from various areas like fuel, manifold etc..

and will cause a host of problems if it leaks or breaks. And unfortuanately, it breaks fairly easily.

Are there any special tips that can help me to change it out?
