choises S4 or BMW Z3 coupe 3.0
ok guys ... i'm really doubting between these two cars.
From a practical point of view, the S4 wins easily. It can house 4 people comfy and it can take some luggage. Problem with that is that i'm single and i don't really need to lug a lot of stuff.
From a fun to drive point of view, i think the BMW wins with instant power oversteer.
Anything i'm missing ?
And while i'm requesting things, there is a black S4 on here with black wheels. Could the owner please post a pic. (can't find it anymore)
Thx

Really depends what you're looking for
Exterior styling is subjective, but MOST people would give it to the BMW. Interior is a blowout with the S4 being WAY ahead. Comfort=S4, Space=S4, Power (TONS OF MODS) = S4, Handling - I've not pushed a Z3 too hard, but I hear when you do they don't respond like most BMWs and are really twitchy so I dunno. If you're after power-on-oversteer, just throw on a 22mm neuspeed rear sway bar and swap in a stiffer suspension (like STaSIS tracksport with 700 lb springs in the front and 800 lb springs in the rear) Veruckt has a good video showing the S4 power-on-oversteering. They are VERY VERY different cars, but I think you'd be more satisfied with the S4. I was looking at an M roadster when I got the S4, and hands down chose the S4, but go out and drive some. Oh yeah, stock spring rates are 350 front and 290 rear so that's a major reason why you won't really see oversteer in a STOCK S4. A few changes and you can do induce it quite easily. Good luck!

Re: how about the M roadster?
i'm only 26 and have just started to earn money ... insurance for the S4 i can afford (more less), the M version is just too much.
btw i don't like the roadster, it would have to be the fixed roof version

I rented a Z4 out in San diego
I rented one for the weekend and it was fun to drive up the coast. I think the Z3 would be very reliable. It depends on what you need. If you're in the south I'd be tempted to get the BMW.

I just did "what if" policy quote on progressive
If I replaced my '00 S4 and policy increase:
'01 Mcoupe +$236/yr
'00 Mcoupe +$94/yr
'01 Mroadster +$150/yr
'00 Mroadster +$116/yr
I think '01 was when the hp went way up??
