Considering the KO3's durabilitly.....
If your K03's where do go out, then why wouldn't Audi of America allow you to put in the K04's? I believe they have been proven to be more reliable than the K03's. I'm not sure how they would work with the "Stock" ECU though. But considering that they are more reliable I really don't see why AOA wouldn't allow it.

If AoA was smart...they would do that
but even to Audi the cost of K04's are much higher than K03's. And they only have to get past the 50K miles to be out of the clear for warranty
I'm sure there are a few (i've heard of two i think) of multiple K03 replacements under warranty, so for audi to spend the extra money on K04's i dont think is worth it |

There are legal reasons AoA can't do this.
The S4 is emission certified with the K03 turbochargers. Audi spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to get this certification.
Technically, the turbochargers are part of the emission system and legally cannot be altered. |
didnt even think of this....noice

Has anybody taken a fresh replacement AOA KO3 job
straight to a stage 3+ with KO$'s and then sold the KO3's? Just planning for the eventual ;-)
