Default Control arm replacement DIY?

Has anyone done this? I'm planning on purchasing the 10 piece set from Shokan, which includes all 8 arms and new outer tie rod ends. Time estimates seem to say that this will take a fairly long time (10 hours), but it doesn't seem to difficult. Any tips?

Default Not too bad, just make sure you have all the necessary

tools, and plan on some downtime. It would be best to do on a weekday, so if you need a new bolt or something you can get it. I replaced some, but had acccess to a lift and airtools. Don't overtorque the bolts, I learned the hard way and had to drill one out.

Default 1) Because they are all in the kit, and the car has 70k miles. 2) No, this is the same as the OEM...

kit. I am getting the kit for $585 or so from Shokan, http://www.shokan.com . I believe it is $685 or so if you have the aluminum uprights.

Default I would save your money and replace only those that are broken not just because of miles.

Now if you were upgrading to a better part for a given application I would be all for it.

My car has 111K miles and the alignment is still rock solid.

Default Thanks for the tip, but.....

I think I may as well replace them all while I'm in there. Also, I have not been able to find the arms I need for less than the price of this whole kit from Shokan, so that seems like the best idea for me. The play in the front end is pretty bad right now, presumably due to these eastern Pennsylvania roads.
