Today I decided to try to get at the source of my coolant leak that I posted about a couple of days ago. I checked everywhere I could, short of pulling the motor out, and couldn't find any trace of pink crusties. I was checking under my Y-Pipe and found that my afterrun switch had dried up coolant all over the place around it. (sorry, all I had was my Treo with me and it takes crappy pics) This is a lower temp switch.

I removed the switch, cleaned it all up, and reseated it. The O-Ring seemed fine, there were no cracks in it that I could see. Put the retaining clip back on and started the car up, drove around to warm up the engine, then checked the switch again, and there was a little bit of coolant that looks like it leaked out onto the retaining clip. But drove around the rest of the day today and didn't see any other leaks around the switch. Hopefully it just wasn't seated tight enough before, and now thats the end of it...but this is an S4 after all so I'm not holding my breath

I'm still worried though, as the leak I found the other day was towards the front of the engine on the passenger side, and the afterrun switch is located on the drivers side towards the back, so these might not be related.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/2812214.phtml">Original post</a></li></ul>

Hope that's it. I recently had my afterrun pump replaced.

i replaced my afterrun pump about 4 months ago too..and shortly after I replaced the water pump
