Default Could someone explain LSD in S4 please...
someone from another forum said... in order to make S4 lost traction... turn off the LSD...

What is LSD anyway and what is it used for?

Default There is no LSD on the S4
The front and rear diffs are open diffs.

My guess is they meant ESP.

He's right, except it's not called LSD, it's called ESP

Default well, you could hide it under your back seat in the padding and it should be undetectable!

the exits have alot of oil on em very easy to lose traction

Default yup -- no limited slip differentials on our cars.
well, not one we can control. can't control
EDL or electronic differential lock either.
guy prolly just meant turn off ESP.

Default Tell him he's full of it.
We only have one LSD, and thats in the middle torsen.

The front and the back have open diff and uses brakes to creat a LSD like effect.

well, the Torsen is a LSD. but it's the center diff, so no side-to-side differentiation advantage
