Crosspost: boost gauge questions.
I'm thinking of embarking on a DIY boost gauge project -- most likely, center vent-mounted as many others have done. I like AWE's kit a lot, but I don't want to spend that much moolah.
I'd like help in finding the right turbo gauge to use, and where to procure it. Ideally, I'd want the red illumination to match the stock interior illumination. Both vaccuum and boost on the scale, with boost up to, say, 25psi. And I'd like an electronic gauge with a remote sender, so that I don't have to run tubing all the way to the gauge. And, of course, I'd like a gauge that's affordable. A tall order, for sure, but surely there's something out there that meets this criteria.
Any suggestions? Thanks a bunch!<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/performance/msgs/34051.phtml">https://forums.audiworld.com/performance/msgs/34051.phtml</a</li></ul>

I have the same gauge as Los Gatos S4 (link below this thread under Sal R.)...
We both have 60mm electric gauges, but if you want to save some money, the 52mm electric are a good $100 less.
Keep in mind, the biggest reason people chose Mechanical over Electrical gauges is price. If you want to save maximum money, you should buy a mechanical gauge.
For me personally, i don't like mechanical boost gauges, I prefer the quality that I get out of the Omori electrical gauge.
If you want the best color match option for the S4, I don't beleive you will find any other gauge for sale that is closer than the Omori (if you get Red lighting).
But having a color matched electrical gauge costs money. If you are only willing to spend $50 on a gauge, you won't find an electrical one worth installing.
However, if you ware willing to spend more (like $150-ish) you can have a color matched electrical boost gauge (from Omori in this case).
FWIW, I've had a lot of people who don't know **** about gauges tell me that mine was too expensive and not worth the money. Then I've had 2 different tech's at tuner shops tell me they they're glad to see someone pay a little more for high quality gauges, Especially in a 40k dollar car.
If you decision is priced based, you'll wind up with a mechanical gauge (I've seen the VDO, it's nice).
It's all about what you want out of it, all gauges will most likely work, some better and more stylish than others.
Email me if you want more information on my installation or gauges, I spent about 5 months researching different gauges before I got the one I have.
