Default Yes. The result was I was found guilty--not a surprise since all the courts want is to generate

CASH!!

I got no explanation just a letter to pay up.

Default I didnt win but I managed to reduce it from $400 to $170

I called up a court and told them that I wont be able to be present in person so they sent a form for me to fill out and to attach to my written statement.

That's either a sarcastic comment or don't have a concept of what happens in municipal court : )

Default Depends on circumstances. I fought ticket in NJ (I live in OH) via written sworn statement on court

provided form; not just unsolicited letter. I won, but the tickets was B.S. - cop knew I was in a rental and figured I'd just pay instead of putting up a fuss. Part of the reason I won was because cop screwed up and wrote a Sunday court date on ticket. That was the reason for providing written testimony; court must have figured if cop was that sloppy about date, he likely screwed up on ticket as well - my word against his and luckily, I won.
