Default Is it grinding? Or can you literally not push it into first?

Just a suggestion...sometimes my older Audi has issues where I can't get it into 1st or reverse. If I'm on a slope and release the ebrake, making the car roll just slightly, I can get it to go into gear.

Default Literally can't push it into any gear. Car is in neutral in my garage (perfectly level floor).

The pitch of the engine hum changes slightly when I try, but there is no grinding to speak of unless I try to put it in reverse.

Uhh. Not cool. I was gunna say if you can try to get it into any gear then push the car a foot.

Are you talking about rolling it back while not in any gear?

Default Open the door, put your left leg out, try to roll it, left foot back on the clutch...

and then try to put it into gear. Getting it into gear on a slight roll works every time for me on my old girl. HOPE it works for you too!!

Yep, in neutral. Then once the SLIGHT roll/movement starts, clutch in, put in gear.
