Damn you Audi!!
Take it out on my turbos, take it out on my after-run pump, take it out on my TBB, but DON'T bring my computer into this!
Oh but what could Audi possibly have to do with my computer you must be asking yourself, allow me.
So Saturday night, me and the gf are just arriving back from dinner, I pull into my garage and finally remembered what i had planned to do for some time now. My original grill for the S was collecting dust and since i didn't plan on putting the S badge back on the front, i figured i would take it off and "decorate" my room with it somehow.
So i grab the grill and bring it upstairs, i pry the little bastard off, and clean it up, and begin to ponder what could i possibly do with such a neat trinket. I turn around and meet eyes with desktop monitor, boo-yah! I grab a little tape and stick the bastard on the top of my monitor, it hangs over nicely and looks pretty sweet...neato..
Fast forward to 4:30am, I'm in a coma-like sleep state when my gf wakes me up....great, i'm sure this is important (sarcasm)...go get your damn water woman...."uh, i mean, whats wrong babe?"
-Whats that noise?
-(me) uh, what noise, ZzzZzzZzz...
-I cant sleep, dont you hear it..
So i grumpily roll out of bed, and once i do awaken, the noise is actually quite loud and clear....*tick tick tick tick tick tick tick*....repeatedly and nonstop...i trace the noise to my desktop tower, great, i turn on the monitor for a brief second and see the blue screen of death with some text, whatever, way too late and way to tired to deal with this...shut off computer, back to bed.
Wake up next morning, go to reboot computer.....*tick tick tick tick tick tick tick*...yeah thats right, my hard drive is a goner, done for...M-Fer...but certainly i backed it up lately right? ....ya right. So i order new HD and just hope to god that i can copy some stuff over from the old HD, mostly the thousands of pics from over the years is what i'm hoping to get back
Ironically my computer took a ****, literally hours after making it an "official Audi" computer....thanks again Audi.
Moral of the story, DO NOT attempt to make your computer cool by making it audi memorabilia, it will only plague you with mechanical failures and cause certain death to your formerly reliable machine.
Cheers

lol well, most HD failures are the controller boards.
You can also try puttin the HD in the freezer for about 20-30 mins and plug it back into the puter and see if it works. If not get the same HD used and swap controllers and see if that works. Theres always data recovery companies too
