Looks like you got some of that stuff at Costco. I just picked up that chamois today. What's wrong with it? I've been using various chamois from Costco for years and I think they're great. You got the sheepskin one, right?

Your earlier post

P.S. I think all this stuff people say about detailing products is crap (more)
I've been using Armor All on my family's cars for more than 10 years, and it's never done anything.
Same thing with natural chamois - never had a problem, whether on silver, black, red paint, etc.
Point is, I think there are a lot of myths out there.

I agree, but I do have a silver car too. I just polished today with Meguiars stuff from the auto
store down the street. All this talk about Menzerna, Zaino, and every other hard to pronounce, hard to find products that everyone raves about is a little silly...but I do drive a silver car. Maybe if I had a dark color I would experiment a little more and see some different results. I honestly think it would be a waste to go for the gold with my color car.

chamois left particles on the roof
I washed the car, took the chamois out of the package, and tried to pull it across the roof. It was very tough to pull and left a trail of leather particles. Thinking back, I should've tried getting it wet and wringing it out first.
The problem is I didn't want any particles on the car before applying the wax. As it turned out, the all-cotton white towels caused the same problem. The costco yellow synthetic towels (to the left in the pic) worked great. I'll use the white rags for cleaning my hands.
I haven't been much of a detailer in the past. I took my former black saab viggen to a local carwash for a full detail a few times a year. They charged around $120 and didn't even use claybar before waxing
I didn't have the nerve to try the turtle wax spray on the dash. I used my detailer's brush and the shop vac to clean the dust from the entire radio and dash areas.
