Default De-Badging The Rear Bumper

Now, before anyone says go read the tech guides, this is not a how to question.

My question is about fading. I bought the car used, and it is now 5 years old. It is Santorin blue and I am worried that over time, the paint may have a slightly faded, thus leaving an ugly dark spot in place of where the badge used to be.

I debadged my last car, but it was only 1.5 years old as well, it was silver.

What do you all think?

Default Once you debadge, if you see a slightly color difference just detail your boot.

Clay, Polish, and Wax it up and clean up all the paint back there. Should be ok.

Default Your shade of blue is practically the most fade-resistant color (pigment) on the market [I am not

counting black or white here]. I would say you should be OK; obviously some waxing would insure that the clearcoat surfaces match, but from a pure UV fading perspective you should have nothing to worry about. (I have a 5 yr old Santorin; Indigo, actually; VW and it is looking great. These colors are the same paint code, just different marketing name.)

Default No fading but chips like crazy. Considering how well I maintain my paint,

I can't believe how bad certain areas are, Audi should have used a product like Stoneguard in several other areas.

Alright, I was hoping to hear good news.

I was just afraid that maybe the sun could affect it, I have seen other cars that it has happened on.

Anyways, when the weather turns for the better, I may take on the simple task, and I will let you all know how it went.
