Default Diagnosis needed!! please

Hey guys,

My 2001 S4 is giving me probs, the car won't start!! The battery seems fine, because the radio and lights are working perfectly. However when I turn the ignition, the engine isn't catching, it just makes a rapid "clicking" sound like a machine gun! What's going on here? Starter motor broken? Thanks for the help!!

Sounds like a bad ignition switch.

Default Your battery can have enough juice to run accessories but not

enough cold cranking amps to turn the starter, get out the jumper cables and jump start the car

Well? Did you jump start the car? Let us know who was right.

Default UPDATE!!

Ok, so the battery was dead!! I came back to the car, and it wasn't even clicking anymore, just plain dead. So I jumped it and voila! BUT when I started it, the battery gage read 14 volts?? Is that normal for a battery that was dead a minute ago? ALSO, this is the second time my battery has died, and this is a BRAND NEW BATTERY!! I didn't drive for 2 days, but is that long enough for it to die on me?

I have an aftermarket amp in the trunk, and I have noticed that even with the car off, the light on the amp is on!! Is this why it keeps dying and if so what can I do?
THANKS A TON GUYS

Default The battery should not die in two days, and yes the amps will

draw too much power, see if the remote turn off for the amp is connected to the radio. If you live is socal i can have a guy look at your amps to see if they are connected right.
