Did a top-speed run this weekend on the way home from Bisbee, AZ...

I've owned the car for nearly a year now and can't believe I haven't managed to come up with an excuse to do this sooner!
Anyway, the drivetrain is stock but for an AMS chip and a K&N air filter (I know, but it came with the car), and it topped out at 151mph ... is this about right? FWIW, there was a slight headwind of maybe a few mph when I stopped to take the above photo and I assume this cost me at least a few mph.

Awesome :) I haven't hit top speed but have come close.
I crested a hill and had a view of a perfectly straight, perfectly clear stretch of road at least 2 miles long. I was already travelling about 65 and the moment just felt *right*. It was downhill so the car blitzed up towards the end of the dial faster than I would ever have expected. I let off at an indicated 155 and got on the brakes because I could see several cars rounding the corner at the bottom and coming up the hill towards me. Considering the speed limit was 55, I didn't really want to get a ticket for 100 over or have the potential for a 200mph combined impact
It felt incredible, though, so smooth, so fast and stable. It's funny how your eyes and brain relax and take in the big picture when you're running at such a high speed that the scenery doesn't seem to be going by as fast as it really is.

Just wait for how it feels when it just pulls right past 168 with those GT's....
That is the real magic of the GT setup...keeps pulling and pulling harder, right up to redline. The two times on the track with my setup left me feeling wimpy while lifting in the straights. When you get the car close to 160, you tend to question how the tires and brakes are going to handle slowing down a heavy car. Now if it were a lightweight widebody, the world would be perfect.

I think that may be slower than stock. Isn't stock 155mph electronic limit? Granted hills, wind ect.
May cause fluctuations, but still. With a chip it should go over 160mph.

May have been bad gas, I had a tankfull of 91 from Arizona that I could only go ~125 with.
Didn't matter if I was in 5th or 6th, car just wouldn't go.
Tank of Chevron 91 from Utah the next day went 165..
Or, given your mileage, you could need a new fuel filter.
