Default Difficulty starting car with RS4 fuel pump.

Is this a common problem? It has always been there since the new fuel pump installed. My guess is the pick up is not as deep as the OEM. Anyone else experience this?

Default In cold weather the fuel dump on start up can....

....flood the engine and wet the spark plugs causing a harsh idle and running issues until the excess fuel is burn off.

If you have lemmiwinks just pull the stat-up fuel enrichment down to around 85%. Several cars locally have exhibited this problem and this solved the issue.

We pulled the plugs on one of the cars and man those things were soaked. This may not be your problem but, it might be a good place to start.

Do you have a program that supports the RS4 guel pump?

The pick-up is actually just as deep if not deeper, that shouldn't be happening.

What Piggie said. Also make sure that the check valve is installed.

Default No prob here with pump - Do you have stock injectors?

did you change anything via a Lemmiwinks-type program?

Was anything else changed with the fuel pump?

Curiously, why was the fuel pump changed if you are running just a chip on K03s? Did it fail on you so you upgraded?

Look here to make sure you have modified the 2nd line correctly:

https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/1830103.phtml</a

Default two things i thought of when i installed mine and had an issue

the fuse? i know i know, i just had to say it.....i am sure you remembered to plug it back in but still had to say it.

there is a ball bearing on the top of the pump. during my install the track that holds that bearing broke and the bearing was lost. i think that is the pressure bleed??????? dont know for sure but as soon as i got the bearing situated i started right up with no issues.

hope this helps

Default No running, problems just cold start up issues.

Two of the cars were AWE stage 3 cars and I know that they have had a program idle issue. The cars have since had updates and supposedly that issue is resolved.

The start-up enrichment was left with the tweaks because it resolved the problem during colder winter months, although not specificially isolated to winter.

I meant related to the RS4 pump. If the sauce has flaky cold start it should on either pump.
