Do I have the correct shifter assembly before I start to modify?
I ordered this for 70 Euro, its the whole shifter assembly. Part number is 4B0 711055 F. They don't sell the shifter by it self here in Germany

The ball retainer ring and spring clip has been removed

It looks different from the pictures posted earlier today, or maybe thats just a cover on top.
My car is in France so I can't check with the original in the car, but I know I have the new style shifter with out the white ears on top of the ball.
I'm mulling over the modification possibilities
