Do I need to reset "error" code if I installed chip w/o removing (-) battery cable? (more...)
Is it really necessary to disconnect power when installing ECU? It didn't seem to make a difference but what could have gone wrong?

the error code is thrown by the ECU being disconnected...
the battery doesn't have anything to do with it and you do NOT have to disconnect the battery.
I'm not sure if the error goes away on its own but we always have SOMEONE with the vag tool clear that code.
