Does anyone else think that 67hrs install time is insane (m)
I had Abt K04 kit, downpipes, clutch/flywheel, front brakes, intercoolers, center vent boost gauge, and my control arms installed and the final install time came to 67hours Is this absolutely rediculous or am I just not calculating the times properly?

hmmm...
downpipes: around 10 hours
clutch: probably at least 5 hours
front brakes: probably 2 hours
center vent boost gauge: bout an hour
control arms: I dunno, but at least 5 hours
abt K04 kit: there ya go! I think this is supposed to be 36 hours
so, you're looking at around 58ish hours
with my calc, and I'm probably off by quite
a bit since I probably underrated the clutch
and control arms install... as well as the
front brakes, and I left out the intercoolers.
my guess, going by the book, it's probably right.
a friend may have cut you a break with all that
work, considering it probably only took 50
hours of the 67 you were quoted.
consider it this way though, K04 installs
are going for about $2500 to $3000 these days.
add up all the other stuff, and see how you did.

for book time, yeah -- but remember, the dp's can be done in 2 secs since the turbos were changed.
and the intercoolers actually took less than 30
min since the bumper was coming off for the
turbos anyway. clutch install time is also less
cause the car is already on the lift, and
accessible. this is why time spent should
be discussed with your installer ahead of time
to make sure he doesn't try banging you with
book time. I doubt they spent more than 5 days
on everything. 5 eight hour days come out to
waaay less than he was quoted.

My take: (correction to yours)
If you're doing Turbo upgrade, and if you're taking out the engine...it shortens the time for other stuff.
Turbo: 30~35 hrs
Clutch: 1~2 hrs
DPs: 2 hrs
Brakes: 2 hrs
Control arms: 5 hrs?? (this I have no idea)
boost gauge: 1 hr
take the more conservative calculation, you're probably looking at 47hrs ONLY~~~!!!
