I go every 5K and it looks like time to change when I do.

Default People have done oil analysis on Synthetic used for like 7500 miles and it still looked OK.
You might want to do a search for exact data. Thread was posted on this subject with links, etc. late last week. Not sure if anyone has gone a full 10k miles and had it tested. I'm a frequent changer, myself. I would venture to say most here change in the 5k range, but I'm sure lots of people go longer. Oil change interval seems to be akin to religious preference - there are all types and all philosophies on this board.

BTW, this is the B5 board (2.7Ltt engine), not the 4.2 NA V8.

Agreed here. It might look murky, but the oil properties might be totally fine.
