Do you have the plug end facing the adjuster?

Default Nothing is lining up......

The two prongs on the inside of the black plastic ring won't go down into the casing because it doesn't slide onto the bulb part. I also can't move the bulb because it has it's own three grooves to fit in ... something is very wrong but I have been trying everything with this for over an hour and I am someone who is good with puzzles ... son of a bit.... my digital camera has dead batteries.. =/

Default Yeah, there are three grooves on the inside of the housing. It only lets you put

the plug/bulb combo in one direction. Plus the rubber o-ring requires only a little bit of force to seat.

Default It is in the correct way, yes but if it snaps into place it doesn't slide..

into the metal grooves in the casing while at the same time having the two prongs on the ring slide into the casing. argh
