Does anyone know if the S4gives a warning if our brake pads are close to worn out?

Default Does anyone know if the S4gives a warning if our brake pads are close to worn out?

The BRAKE light on my dash has been flashing frequently as of late. Sometimes when I start the car, when I accelerate agressively and when I hit bumps.

I read the manual and it says something to the effect that the brake fluid might be low but I think the fluid level seems fine to me. Could it be the brake pads? Would it definitely be unsafe to drive like this? I can't get in for service until the middle of next week.

Thanks.

Default The front pads have a sensor....but I would think if you're at that level....

...of pad left, the light would trip and then stay on. Not go on and off when you accelerate and hit bumps.

My guess is low brake fluid.

Default brake light?

do mean the word "BRAKE" that lights up in the instrment cluster? If so, that's your hand brake. Might be a bad/loose switch.

As Andy said, the stock front pads have a wear sensor, the pad warning looks like a (O) symbol in your information display. There is another symbol for low brake fluid warning as well. Check your manual.

Default The pad wear indicator is displayed in the information center! It is accomanied by a audible warning

The intermittant brake light you see might have something to do with you emergency brake!
