|
check vortex modle guide about the new Golf/GTi - there's some info there IIRC
it'll have a 2.0L 16V FSI Turbo engine making 200HP
|
Direct injection. Check the link.

Weak, a 2.0L Turbo motor with direct injection should be making more than 200 HP.
|
Techno-babble from Audi? I don't think the writer understood what he was writing about. --->
No throttle plate? Yet the pictures show one.
Now I'm rally confused. :( |
in other words, lots of headroom for mods :o)
a circa-1995 4.6L Mustang GT should've made more than 215 HP too, but.... ;-)

FSI = Fuel Stratified Injection
Just like the other posters mentioned, it's direct fuel injection coupled with two intake paths, one of which is controlled by an additional throttle plate. When it's in fuel economy mode, the additional plate it closed and the charge is swirled inside the cylinder normally. When the car is WOT, the additional plate opens up, allowing more air in as well as directing the intake charge into the cylinder differently. This allows the engine to have efficient combusion for each rather than optimized for either (or a straight trade-off).

Thanks. You should be Audi's ad writer. :-)

Agree. :-)
