Does anyone know why Shokan's control arm kit, including TREs, is so much cheaper than the others'?
Shokan's kit is about $2-$300 cheaper than the ones offered by ECS (if you add in the parts not included in their base kit) and Blaufergnugen (theirs is comprehensive)? And Shokan's kit comes with TREs to boot, which the others don't.
Folks here have said good things about Shokan, but I'm a bit suspicious of their low price.
Their kit is represented as being brand new, so I don't understand how they can undersell everyone else.

I'm not sure. Someone here said he used the A4 kit, but I also e-mailed Shokan and they say they
have an S4 kit, but don't list it because of the variation between the aluminum and steel uprights. They priced the aluminum kit at $665 and the steel kit at $565.

Do you know if I can use the steel parts if my car has aluminum parts right now? I haven't
determined yet whether I have steel or aluminum, but the woman at Shokan told me they couldn't tell by my VIN, even though I've heard otherwise.

What's your build date? If > 10/99 then you probably have steel uprights.
And there is one lower arm that is different for the aluminum uprights, I think it's the lower front. Other arms and TRE's are the same.

Doubtful that they can be interchanged, but I haven't had the personal experience...
with aluminum uprights. If you have aluminum uprights you'll spend more, but some people on here will be jealous of you. ;-)

My build date is 1/00. I believe I have the steel uprights based on the fact that my VIN ends in
124XXX and the break seems to have been at 080000 (with the ones up to 080000 being aluminum and the ones thereafter being steel).
