Door handle retractor broke while opening door....anyone know how to fix it?.....

Door handle retractor broke while opening door....anyone know how to fix it?.....

I went to open my door and it kinda broke downwards a bit. The door is fully functional, the handle just doesn't retract anymore and sticks out. Is this a common problem? Did a spring just slip off or something? If anyone has had this happen to them and knows whats necessary to fix it I would greatly appreciate some help.

Same happened to me... never got around to fixing it. It kind of went back in...

ECS has a kit IIRC...

Common problem.

Search for the $30 part...have to remove the door panel to replace the interior door handle assembly. Basically the spring broke, but you can't just buy the spring...you have to buy the handle assembly.
