Default drove at the Lexus IS300 demo at TX Stadium in Dallas yesterday... interesting results:

The lexus was impressive in all ways except for the interior IMO. Seemed like it was a little cheap in the interior. The actuation of the door handles and such was a little bit light and cheap-feeling. The plastic used also seemed a little bit light and of lesser quality than Audi and BMW... again, just my opinion. But the handling was superb and the brakes were great too. The engine felt good and the tranny shifted well, but I couldn't get the auto-stick part to work right... (just wasn't familiar enough).

On an interesting note, I also got to drive the 2.8 A4 tip, quattro, non sport. I used to have a turbo A4 and now I have an S4, and in true Audi form I drifted their 2.8 through the course well. Bad tires and super-soft supension made for lots of screeching rubber, where the lexus and bmw had good tires and supensions comparatively, with little screeching. I was warned to slow down by the infield "police" and finally stopped altogether. The cop-guy actually pulled his minivan in front of me and stopped all the driving on my account. The funny thing is I didn't hit a single cone (lots of cones.. lots!)!!! I think lots of people were hitting cones in the Audi since I'm sure most of them don't own a quattro or drive much like we do. He spoiled all my fun! Oh well...

From what I've heard, good thing there's no parking garage "police" at their apartments

Default Tristan: There's another thread with a review of my drive below:

I was doing a lot of drifting in the A4 and the IS-300 and nobody flagged me. I touched a few cones on both runs of the shorter course, but they did not move significantly or topple!

Default I saw your post. I got the lexus out of shape once, but kept it slow after that....

I'm not good enough to tackle a new track and car at the same time!! I did manage to get in trouble with the minivan police!!! PUNKS!!! I should have run with the thing and escaped with their little pride and joy. YOU CAN KEEP MY DAMN JETTA... hehe
