Default DTC's this afternoon -- need some help please

Hello folks,

While on my way back from Reno this afternoon I noticed the check
engine light came on. I was only a couple minutes from the house so I
decided to finish my trip and check with the VAG when I got home. My
VAG tells me I have the codes below.

Engine
1 DTC's Found:
17547 - Long Term Fule Trim Add.Fule:Bank2 System too rich
35-10 - - - Intermittent

Instruments
1 DTC's Found:
00849 - S Contact on Ignition Starter Switch (D)
31-10 - Open or Short to Ground - Intermittent

I just had my 50K service a few days ago, last week. After running down
a significant list of long-term intermittent issues with the service
manager (none that have anything to do with the codes from today,
AFAIK), the dealership was able to complete the service,
inspect/investigate all of my issues, test drive, and wash the car, in
2.5 hours. This made me a bit suspicious that perhaps they did little
more than a VAG check and oil change. It was, by far, the fastest
service I've ever had. What's the typical time required for a 50K
service and a little extra for inspection?

So, my second question to all of you is, in your opinion are these
codes that likely just popped up today for the first time or is it more
likely that they've been intermittent issues for some time? Rather, had
the dealership indeed fully inspected the car would it be likely that
they would have found the cause of these faults? Can anyone offer a
explanation of these codes? Unfortunately I can't seem to find my
Bentley's CD anywhere (to many moves), or I'd look up the codes myself.

Kind of a bummer way to start my weekend...

TIA!

Default a couple more notes and questions

A couple quick follow-up notes and more questions...

- No chip - bone stock less the BPV's and Exhaust that have been there since 01
- This is only the second Check Engine light I've seen in 50K+ miles
- I have noticed significantly better gas milage after the service (~20 to ~25+) with the same driving patterns

Is it possible (likely?) that these DTC's were caused by the 50K service activity?

Don't get me wrong here, I'm not trying to blame anything on the dealership. I do however, subscribe to the last one to touch is the first place to look scenario.

TIA!

Anyone care to share their thoughts on either of my DTC's? I was able to find some information on the 17547, nothing on the 00849.
