Default DTS 1st driving impressions.....placebo effect?

I love it so far..the car seems to be putting the power down effortlessly. Shifts from 1st to 2nd just flow together and when shifting to other gears it "knows" where to go with out hitting the gates between gears :-)

One thing I wondered is the car turns much quicker .. I thought it was on rails after changing shocks and springs but now it feels much better and the power into a turn and out of a turn is on tap when ever you apply the gas.

Is it my imagination or is this a untold benefit?

Default Rails = Quattro, it's wonderful.

As to the shifter, yes, it does "know" where to go, the shift actuator in the transmission has two sets of detents, one to center the stick shift and the other to angle the shifts toward the next higher gear, using a pattern forged into the actuator.

Default A4 people have claimed that locking the subframes together tightens up the chassis enough to

lift front wheels in an autocross(Innovator did the install). Main interest for me is to get this side benefit of the DTS.

Default Also, I found an interesting quote from Innovator which makes safety issues less of a concern...:)

"AWE has actually gone far beyond UUC's version of my design, by extensive R&D, and fine machine work. The DTS is amazingly well crafted.

AWE has created a safer product, by creating shear bolts that would snap in a frontal collision,(if)that is in fact the direction the tranny decides it wants to go. I had examined several totaled A4's in salvage yards before I released the UUC version. I too was concerned about the ramifications of a severe collision. The transmission usually went backwards, more so than down. I've seen the transmission actually go up, through the floor. The bottom line is, you never really know what's going to happen if you take a really bad hit. There are soooo many variables.

The AWE DTS , while being very lightweight , yet still strong enough to give the driveline additional support, will surely give way to a collision forceful enough to drive the engine back and downward. AWE has taken the time to properly re-design this product to make it lighter, safer, and a overall better value.. You need to see the new design to appreciate what I'm talking about."

Default

Well, my tranny went straight back about 2 inches, jamming the drive shaft.
