Default Dyno n00b question.....

When you guys go on the dyno, what are your oil temps? Do you guys put it on there ice cold?

Default Well you have to drive the car on and they will run the car a little the first time

For me all I care about is the coolant temps being normal and the oil gauge just moved off the very first line. Exactly the same way I run it at the drags.

Mike/Audi2ptzero is right on. When we play on the dyno we normalize coolant temps so it is repeatable and within a normal operating range. Oil temp do not seem to matter a whole lot.

I guess if we wanted a "Hail Mary" run we could run it with the clt temps cooler. But what would that accomplish? Besides, some my one of a kind dyno is bigger than yours.

For example the dyno shown is one of three pulls within .5 of an hour. The lowest was about 420 and the highest was the one shown at just shy of 430. Very close. That makes me really feel that the tuning is stable and consistant.
