ECS Tuning 2-Piece, Floating, Replica Rotor Kit

Anyone have any experiences with these rotors?
The advantage is a 5 1/2 lb unsprung weight savings. The cost $600.
Any alternatives out there? Any similar rotors available for the rear wheels?
They come in a slotted version and a cross-drilled & slotted version. Any suggestion on which is better? Do people have problems with cracking with drilled rotors on the S4??

In addition to lighter wt, the other claimed advantage is improved cooling.
The directional internal venting is said to improve cooling vs the stock style venting. Some people (like me) would consider this a more important feature than the lighter wt.
There are other suppliers of similar rotors. Stoptech, stasis and maybe DBA are some other manufacturers.

They work....
I love driving out in the hills and was always getting pretty bad fade. I had decent pads (porterfields) and I knew they took decent heat, and I had decent fluid (motul) so I knew it had to be the rotors.
I didn't feel like dropping huge cash for the BBKs out there so I did this as a stop gap measure since the car was supposed to stay stock (uh... riiight, somehow a new MAF is on my desk and new turbos at the shop).
Bottomline: they work as advertised. They may not be good enough for the big power guys, but for guys who have some restraint and a mildly modded car, they won't fade, they stop pretty well if you have all the rest of the system up to par (good pads, lines, fluid). Think about your needs, take a look, and if you think they'll meet what you need, they won't steer you wrong.
Rob
PS. If you *do* want to go BBK later, you can talk to the BIRA boys and they can get you brackets that will mount boxter calipers that fit over stock rotors (and ECS rotors BTW). Sure it's not a Big Red kit but it'll do yah in a pinch for cheap.
Get slotted. I believe the rotors ECS uses are drilled and drilling is bad mmmm'kay?

I have em...
I have a set of slotted units with an early production problem (out of spec hats gave a vibration in certain circumstances) that ECS has since resolved. They're sending me new ones with new pads for no charge, including paid shipping both ways.
They're definitely worth buying from given the professional manner they handled my problem and the, defect not withstanding, quality of the product.
Another note: The rotors ARE the limiting factor in the front brakes on this car. BIRA and other test results (S4 challenge braking winner was on stock binders) amply illustrate this. 2pc rotors with enhanced cooling are the most cost effective solution, by far. That being said, 4 piston calipers modulate better and are on my "long term" mod list.
StasiS also makes a similar setup, which I also recommend.
