ECU chip with boost guage functionality, has this been asked about/done?
 

I know the APR chip allows the driver to toggle the fuel program by using the cruise control stick. Do any of these chips add a boost guage menu to driver information display (the one that shows instant fuel mileage/average fuel mileage/average speed, etc.)

If the display is being driven by the main ECU, then it would make sense. If it's controlled by a separate processor, then it might not be as easy. Anyways, this seems like the ideal place to put a real time digital boost display. Also a display for peak boost.

You need an EFU to do this...

search for EFU (not a chip though)...

The refresh rate on the EFU is too slow and provides no trend information...
 

IMHO, it's not particularly useful as a boost gauge in particular, though it's a neat gadget.

I find my EFU to be quite useful as a boost gauge.
 

The combination of EFU, VAG-Com, and/or ECUx is more than enough IMHO. Actually when I got EFU, I was pleasantly suprised by how quick the refresh rate was.

I might be selling my EFU soon...

do you have data on that? what's the refesh rate for its boost gauge?

IIRC it's 4 samples per second or something...
 

More than that, there's no trend context, or peak hold, so you can't see peaks and valleys.
