I assume you mean an "X chip" alone (not attched to an ECU)?
Yes, it's possible, but unlikely. Transferable? Yes, if you own the "X chip" it's yours, you don't have to pay for it again if you want to upgrade it.
Having said that,you will have to pay to get it installed into an ECU (unless you can do it yourself) and it will also cost to get the upgrades installed.
If you can't find a "used" A box ECU with a GIAC X chip, pay for the upgrades, enjoy them and don't worry about the money spent, it will be worth it, unless of course you blow the turbo's and have to come up with the 8K for the KO4 conversion. ;-P

Pretty sure he means ECU xplorer for APR chips. If like most programs *should* be able to..
Might have to call APR or the developer to get a new unlock code and explain you bought it from soandso, etc.. I would not see why they couldn't tranfer it. However that being said, how much is a new version compared to a used?

Ugh, so not funny. I just spent over a half hour cursing in my car trying to get Lemmi and ECUx
to work. I got Lemmi to work vis serial emulator(com port 2) and VAG works on USB, but neither of my USB ports (serial emulated or regular) will work with ECUx :-/
So frustrating....
