Default Engine out, other work to be done?

I'm taking the engine out to replace head gaskets. A few other things I was planning on doing include:

valve cover gaskets
power steering hoses (it's been leaking)
upgrade clutch
machine heads 40-60 thousandths
belts?

Is there anything else that I ought to do while it's out?
Thanks.

Well, yeah. Everything. How much money do you have to spend?

Stronger rods. As long as everything is apart, put in stronger rods and that'll allow you to add really big powa later on.

Thanks for the responses. I was just thinking of things that can't be done with the engine in such as clutch, head work, etc. I've only got 50K on the car so some of the other front-end stuff can wait for now.

Speaking of heads, does anyone make a good head stud set for the 2.7? ARP doesn't seem to make any.

The head stud kits are really expensive, i would use the non stretch head bolts from eurospec. This is what i used in my rs6 build along with the main stud kit. Really is the best bang for your buck

Are you looking for maintenance pointers or suggestions for upgrades? Are you even chipped now?
