It's this bad. Sport compact car dynoed the new Z for rear wheel HP and the two plots are CA 91 octane vs 100 octane. Note that this is NOT a turbo engine and it still gained over 4hp (in other words the timing was able to advance to get closer to the design specs of the engine than on the crappy gas).

Default I feel helpless..

The DMV is painfully frustrating... imagine the barriers one face to try to get anything done about this. Goverment, well this one. is terribly slow!

Default Doesn't sound like too bad of an issue to me...

...of course, the Z could be *TUNED* for 91 octane just like a stock S4 is.

Default But what's the difference between 91 and 92?

Or 93 for that matter? 100 octane isn't readily available anyway.

Default took my 996 on a pretty hard Angeles crest drive...

and it was in the mid 80's and I was thinking the engine was REALLY tight but today I finished off the 1000 miles and realized it was **** for gas. You can feel it just poop out up top.

Default I put 1/2 tank of 100 in today, and noticed someone had written S4's rule

or something to that effect on the pump. This was at the 76 on Almaden Expy. in San Jose.

I thought it was funny (although wouldn't have expected an S4 driver to write on a gas pump...)
