Sunday night I was headed to a bash at a friend's house. I was cruising in the middle lane of 465 (Indianapolis' beltway, Dave Letterman Expressway) around 65 or 70 mph. Enough to pass the guys doing 55 in the right lane but not going too fast.

In my rearview I spot a V8 (not WS-6) Firebird cruising at almost 80 in the left lane, casually passing by everything.

The road ahead was clear, the V-1 was silent. I downshifted into third awaiting his approach.

He reaches along-side me and I go WOT. He's started to play and downshifts to keep up. We keep playing tag at too-fast-a-speed for a few miles, but every time I reach him I'm able to pull ahead and he had difficulty keeping up until I slowed down. He'd pull on be and I'd always blow past him.

I find this amazing. All my little car has is an MTM chip and an exhaust. No DPs, no ICs.

He was clearly distressed by this. Then again, the fact that my wife and I would "wave" at him each time we past him didn't help.
