F-up, and need help with Rear Rotor/Pad Change...
While swapping out the rear pads and rotors, I accidently stripped the upper 8MM Allen head bolt that holds the carrier? (not the caliper)in place.....now I cant get it off! I tried to use a allen wrench with some leverage, since I didnt have an 8MM allen bolt ratchet......I know, bad move!!!
I put things back together and will be taking it to a real mechanic tomorrow morning.
Anyone here experience this before....

go to sears, pay 35 bucks and get their extractors
you will be glad that you did, then just go to the dealer and get a new bolt. the moeny you spend will be less then a mechanic.
where are you located?

Thanks, a friend suggested same...
My only concern is limited access to that area with the car on jacks stands. I'll give it shot ....
Hopefully the dealer has these bolts in stock!

anytime, if you were local i would say bring it over, but things
like this are a good way to increase your mechanical aptitude and also add to your tool collection. while you are getting these you should also pick up a set of hex sockets, torx sockets and 6mm, 8mm, 10mm and 12mm triple square wrenches. all are very good to have while working on this car
