Default Fair trade on my S4? Need advice

Hey Guys,
I am about to pull the trigger on a 2005 Porsche C2S, the dealer offered me $17,500 for my 2000 S4 with 65K miles and 4 grand off the sticker on the C2S. My car is in excellent condition and runs really strong, its a Stage 2 plus with MTM suspension, Sportecs, etc, I am going to hate to let it go, but Porsche has always been my dream, and now is my chance. I know I can get more if I sell it privately, but because I am so busy and I live in an enthusiast unfriendly area, it will be very tough for me to sell. I was going to order the P-car for a Feb. build, but this one just came in. Anyway, mods aside, which I know are worthless in a trade, is this a decent trade in offer for someone who wont be able to sell privately? Thanks in advance,
Imran

Default if you have time to de-mod, then you'll make a few extra bucks.....

If you're buying a 997 and can afford just to eat the extra few thousand, just trade it - easy, fast, no hassle and you'll save a few $$$ on sales tax depending on where you live.

I would pull off the rims, put the stockers on, take the chip out and put the stock chip in - these are 2 things you could do really quickly.

You would be able to sell the chip and wheels very easily here on Audiworld.

yeah, thats what I was thinking, but I dont have the stock wheels or chip anymore, I guess I will just have to lose out. Well, I will be trading to a dealer in Memphis if anyone wants the car, but I am sure they will try selling it for 21K, damn dealers! I may put the stock DPs back on, if I do, I will be selling my Milltek Dps.

Default Here's what you do.....I'm 100% certain it will work if you want to take the time and deal..........

with the hassle.

The dealership gave you trade in value for your car without mods - they really do not care if it has mods or not because they just used auction prices to give you a trade in # (or they called a local Audi dealership to see what Audi will pay for it since they will not keep it on their lot).....

Do your deal on the 997 but do not take delivery. Give them the deposit. Tell them the deal is not done until you de-mod your car.

They'll wait a week for you to do it.

Give them a sizable downpayment so they don't sell the 997 out from under you.

Any dealership worth their weight that is selling a car at the 997 level will understand that you need to demod your Audi before trading it in. If they do not agree, then tell them the deal is done, you will go somewhere and just order the 997.

They REALLY want to sell an $80,000 car, I promise.
