Fan always on

What part is controlling the fan shown in the picture. It is on 90% of the time and even though I don't mind the extra cooling, it is very loud and annoying when driving.
I'm guessing it is a thermo switch of some sort.
Curiously, when I turn off the AC completely with the off button, the fan stop spinning.
Can anybody tell me what it is and maybe where to find it in the engine bay or its part #
Thanks

Re: That's cause its the ac condenser fan.
So if I understnad corectly, it is normal to have this fan spinning all the time and the problem is that it shouldn't be loud and I shouldn't be hearing it while driving.
I should fix the fan or replace it and not try to look for what's causing it to spin in the first place.
Right?

I had the same problem a few years ago. It could be one of two things.
It's either the electric fan behind the radiator is broken or the fan controller is broken. The fan controller is mounted under the frame rail on the driver's side. If you look up from under the car a little to the right (closer to the driver's side front wheel) of the oil filter you'll see a small box that looks like it has heatsink fins on it and a wire harness going into it. That's the fan controller. In my case both the fan and the controller were broken. My guess was that the fan broke first then the controller died trying to constantly start the dead fan.
I believe the fan cost me about $200 and the controller was another $200.

This is a tech article for AR about the fan control module, but the same for our cars.
With the Aux. fan not working, either due to bad fan control module or broken fan, it will send the A/C fan into hyper-mode.

https://www.audiworld.com/tech/eng65.shtml</a
