Fault code analysis - cylinder 5 misfiring? And throttle body adaptation Q...
I checked my codes tonight, and noticed that I had two of them:
16684 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire detected
16689 - Cylinder 5 misfire detected
I cleared them, and then went for the aforementioned (thread below) WOT runs to see if I could duplicate them. Nothing. They didn't come back.
I'm asking all these questions because I am experiencing some hesitation throughout my rev range in all gears except 3rd. I did a cursory check of the TBB, but didn't notice anything. I am told that I have the updated X software (no hesitation).
I also re-checked my throttle body adaptation, and noticed that the values were pretty far apart - 14.5% on 1 and 85.2% on 2 on an 8 count. Is that type of spread normal, or do all of these issues indicate some problem?

car sounds fine to me.
throttle body thingy, yup... one's usually
around 85% -- the other's around 15% in
pretty much every S4 I've done a throttle body
adapt on.
misfires... umm, I dunno. if they don't come
back, I'd let it go. I think I had that code
awhile back... hasn't come back.

Throttle Body Values are correct. Misfire codes probably no big deal
KJ had a few after our day at the track. He had Mat Reid take a look at them the day of our drive/lunch and said they were no big deal. Ask him for details though.
