Default a few questions: would you buy rims with tires mounted like this?

would you track your car with tires mounted like this (they said its under the manufarturers specs, they also said its not recomended to track street tires)?

to the people who purchased tire and wheel combos like this, are you satisfied by the way they looked and handled? because edge said "nobody had any complaints" im just wondering if that was true

these tire and wheel combo was just purchased from edge racing, although i was being offered free replacement as long as i cover the difference of the tire, I am pretty unhappy because i am going to have to pay shipping 2 more times and going thru the trouble of shipping these damn rims and tires again. I was never warned nor told about how stretched out these tires would be, i guess that's my only beef agaiinst them.

whats your opinion? (be nice)

Default Is it in spec?

They look like Falkens, check the specs at their site

I'd be concerned about rim protection on the edges, but just be careful and don't curb anything.

Default not recommended to track street tires? wth?

are you sure they said that?

tons of people do track events on street tires and it is highly recommended for beginners...

about the "stretched" look, as long as the rim width is within the manufacturers recommended wheel width range for that tire, i wouldnt worry about it....i have 225 S03's on my 18x8.5's and they look a little stretched but are perfectly fine...

Default i was just told, that "street tires" are not recomented for track use...

i did mention that i plan to track these rim and tire package, but i was told that its not recomended

I am not an expert, but at the same time im not fresh of the boat. I have had 9 sets of rims on my audi and this is the first time i purchased rims and tires like this (which is going back)
I talked to a guy named alex about it and he mentioned that its been being sold like this for years. I was just curious if anybody felt the same way i did.

Default Falken says those can be mounted on anything from a 7.5"-9" rim. I wouldn't run them like that, but

it's not out of spec.

Default Im not trying to discredit edge racing, I just wished that I was told that I was...

buying a set of stretched tires.. Its like wearing a size 7 shoe when you wear a size 10, but the shoe salesman will still sell it to you.
I do not feel safe driving on these wheels, nor like the way they look!

Default Tons of people run street tires on the track, they won't have the grip of an R-compound or a slick,

but if you're just starting out, you don't want a ton of grip anyway.
