final limerock update and a picture from a rain day at Tremblant ...
This is a picture of turn #14 (Namrow).
The Car with the Stasis Ohlins 700f/800r with Hsports front and rear on soft is perfectly setup for the dry but not great in the rain - front needed to be way softer to get more grip.
I was by far the fastest car (not the best driver) in the middle run group in the dry but was much slower in the rain as the car just had very little grip and my goal as usual was not to push it but just to learn.
This track is amazing. If you get the chance you have to go - smooth, great rythm, fast sweepers and the very slow but great fun with rotation downhill sweeper #14 / Namrow (see picture)

The last day at Limerock
- 3 race starts (2 in grid format and 1 in single file)
- our group had 7 cars in it - only 2 didn't go off in the 10 lap "race" conditions (I was one of them)
- in the second 30 minute session 3 of the 7 went off, I stayed on again
- Me and another driver were putting down the the fastest times at 1:04 - 1:05
- I have a video that I will get in 2 weeks that shows me waving him by and following him for 3 laps and then he goes 2 wheels off at which point I pass him
I will take many things away from the 3 day event:
- smooth inputs of gas and brakes (these are so critical at higher speeds)
- there are 3 types of corners, it is the entry speed corner where trail braking is just so much faster than the method usually taught of braking in a straight line and then turning in - turns 1 and 3 at limerock are like this but #1 is just dramatic in that you are braking and turning from the brake point all the way to the apex in 4th gear as you downshift into 3rd while you are doing this 200ft or so braking - you easily pick up 1/2 second with this method
- I highly recommend the 3 day race school to everyone
- will post the video in two weeks

better track surface and you get into a good rythm as it is shorter ...
- Tremblant is in a much prettier surounding + the village makes for a great weekend (food, etc)
- I don't find #2 at Mosport scary, for me it is #4 - this is similar to #2 at Tremblant as you quickly feel that something bad can happen
- Mosport feels like a big beast of a track, the setting of Tremblant + the flow + the new pavement + the 30 seconds shorter + the Village = better experience over all + the owner usually has some of his million dollar toys around to look at (Enzo race car, etc) = private club feel
- Mosport favors the S4 over Tremblant but not by much - make every effort to go to Tremblant with some friends, rent a townhouse in the village and hang out for a few days
