Finally parted with my '00 S4
Traded in the S4 last Saturday at DHQ VW in NJ.
Didn't really expect to, but they worked hard to meet my numbers, and was told back int he day don't go test driving without your title, just in case.
Those of you who keep an eye on the auctions, a silver S4 in OK shape with original turbos and an RSN-e will be popping up soon. It only failed me once and that was not bad for 8yrs of ownership. All I would have liked to have was better mileage and we could have lasted even longer. If anyone picks it up, I've got the origional radio == and a spare, and the spare keys. LOL.
Now I'm on the lookout for a C5 S4. LOL. Seems a shame to waste all this Audi knowledge.

MIleage??
who really cares about mileage? If a car costs 6 or 8 or 20 dollars more to fill up and that gives a person pause for thought why not just buy a Prius or a Leaf? BUT if the thought of driving a car that is exciting to drive versus the decision of frugal economy...........that’s why I drive a stonkin V8!

I was getting about 10mpg city on premium, and most of my driving was city. I just replaced the upper control arms, and the lowers were due in another month or so. 18yrs of wear an tear were catching up on the car and I just decided as fun as it was, I was not the guy to take that journey.
I now drive an eGolf. Its not fast off the line, but I have chased down a couple of GTI's and WRX's on the highway, easily. It has all the creature comforts the S4 had, except antiglare side windows ( I REALLY miss those too!), and obviously AWD. . But I know how to drive well enough I can get by in the snow and rain just fine. I REALLY miss the intake sounds, especially in low gears around town In almost 2 years I have gotten REALLY used to not visiting gas stations. I think in 30K miles (62K total on clock) including 2 road trips to Canada from PA, I've spent maybe $50 in electricity, and $200 in tires, that's all. All in all, I think I made a good move. The S4 was my daily after all.
