Then where do you put the jack stand?
I've been jacking by the factory pinch weld jack point, then placing the jack stand at that subframe mount.
Is there a better way?

Can always put the jack stand on the plate just inboard from the pinch weld. I usually jack from
that reinforcing plate just inboard from the pinchweld and then jack stand on the subframe mount. I hate jacking right on the pinch weld as the seam has bent on other vehicles.
I don't think either of these ways is better than the other, just whatever gives more room to work on whatever part you need access to at the time.

After STFA today....
I did (first time)put the jack stand just inboard of the pinch weld - my pinch welds are getting all bent so I was looking for some place else to jack and jack stand. And the subframe mount is perfectly sized for a puck!

Caution
Never raise the front of the vehicle at the sill panel vertical reinforcement.

You need to be careful lifting the car on asphalt.
With an after-market jack like you're using you might be ok, but if you use anything like the factory jack watch out. I've seen my S4's weight cause the factory jack's foot to start sinking into driveway asphalt.
