Front ride height vs rear, some have lower rear, some have higher rear
I've searched through the archives but I can't figure out what the performance difference is between having:
1) front and rear ride heights equal,
2) front lower and rear higher, or
3) front higher and rear lower.
It seems that folks here do all three, but I wasn't able to located reasons why.
I'm currently set at 25.125 all around. I've had a harrowing experience with a set of speed bumps at this height (and I don't even have the DTS installed yet), so I'm thinking about upping the height and then getting an alignment. This car is not a daily driver, but the undercarriage banging over speed bumps was almost enough to give me a heart attack.
If it matters, this car's primary purpose is track days, but I'm keeping it streetable so I don't need a tow vehicle and trailer.
Anyone have suggestions?
Appreciate the help.

No, higher rear puts more weight on the rear.
Raing the rear of the car is one of the ways to reduce understeer. Higher rear = more oversteer, same as adding a rear bar or more rear spring rate.

LOL, I had that discussion with him too.
Pat is running a stiff bar and lots of spring rate in teh rear. If that works for him - I am ok with it.
Pat if you are reading this. Try this on scales, and tell me what happens. I just did, and I am still sticking to raise rear to eliminate understeer, and to transfer more weight there.

I like the even look w/maybe the front a little lower but mine is actually lower in the rear....
because my 19 x 8.5 maya stms dont fit on the front, they hit the brakes so i need spacers on them and they stick out closer to the fender and rub. So i have to raise the front until my pads wear down enough so that the wheels will fit on, then i will even it out. As for handling i do believe that it handles better when lower in the rear, the rear doesnt raise up as much when cornering, in my experiance although i do not track the car.
