I'm now "locked on" to getting an S4, but getting past "no discount" with a local dealer was frustrating today. Claimed he had one 2002 S4 tip/black/onyx/premium/cold available in about 4 weeks and an Avant (same spec) in about 6 weeks. No 2001's left. Any suggestions? I'm in Chicago.

I don't know if you're willing to drive to Wisconsin to pick up the car. You could try to set up a dealer trade. I'm sure you can get a good deal on a 2001. Check Zimbick Audi in Madison or International Autos in Milwaukee.

Laurel Audi, Continental Audi, Shaumburg Audi in the Chicago area were calling me/emailing this week after I took delivery of my 2001 S4. Laurel qouted a reasonable markup over invoice on a Casablanca white 2001. Continental had the most 2001 on the lot, though they never got back to me.

Call Matt Kneeland at Byer's Imports (614-864-5180) here in Columbus, OH. I was there for a quick warranty fix this week and they had several of S4s on the lot. They are good people and will treat you right. Tell Matt Justin Troilo (pronounced Troy-lo) sent you!
