Default GIAC x-chip Owners

I'm a newly x-chip owner, and I'm noticing some strange things.

On WOT in first gear, my boost peaks at around 13-14 tapering to 12-13. In second gear, it peaks to around 14-15 tapering to 13-14. Third gear and up, I'm seeing (I would assume) normal peaks of around 17 tapering off to 15.

Is this normal particularly for boost levels for first and second gears?

Thanks for your input.

Default First gear isn't long enough to build peak boost, but regardless, those levels are low. Check your

TBB and other hoses for a boost leak. What shape are your BPVs in?

Default I've seen considerably higher...

I had a bad problem with 20-23psi spikes in all gears... tapering to 13-14 or so.

As I posted yesterday, I installed a Piggie MBC and Throttle Cut Defender. I now have a 17psi spike and a taper to 14.5.

You may want to check for boost leaks (TBB) or leaky bypass valves, among myriad other potential problems.

Default One where did you buy your chip from?

I am having similar problem, I think I may have an S chip instead of an X. Though I am peaking about 1.5 bars in first

Default Actually, those numbers look very close to normal....

First gear doesn't build boost as much as the other gears. Second and higher gears should spike anywhere between 17-19psi and hold around 16psi then taper to 12-13 psi above 6k rpm. What octane are you using? If it's only 91 octane then those numbers are fine. What air temps/altitude were present? If below 60 degrees or so then those numbers look OK.

If you're peaking at 1.5 bar in first, something isn't right. That sounds like an XR spike.

Default Yes you did, I dont know whats going on. Several people drove

my car last night, we never broke 14.2. Two things they said, one I have boost leak or two I dont have an x chip. The reason why I say this, is because I swapped ecu's on the track and with a stock chip I ran 14.407
